Very nice! I feel like the A4 is one of those locos that looks good in any livery. Also Horby provided 3 coaches! Usually hornby provide only 2 coaches now witch looks kinda rubbish. Sure I'd prefer 4 but that's just a nitpick

I know what you mean, 2 coaches especially with a loco like an A3 or A4 is just a joke, even 3 looks a bit odd, although on a small 00 layout you'd be hard pushed to have many more than 3 or you'd end up with the loco chasing it's own tail if you're not careful. With TT120 though you should be able to run longer train's without it looking too silly even on a smallish layout as you'll get more in the same space. With that in mind I'd be inclined to prefer 4 or more coaches with a pacific loco in a set as well.

Mind you even as they are the sets are pretty good value, a loco, 3 coaches, and an oval of track with points and a siding (not to mention the power supply etc...) is actually pretty good value and saving against buying the items separately. Especially as the rolling stock in the sets is still full detail, not the 'railroad' type models that Hornby introduced for 00 sets to save some money. Personally I really want to see TT120 succeed as the scale is lovely and the models are stunning quality, be interesting to see how it pans out in the next year or two.

Latest addition to my Beatles related OO scale addiction, the 2022 limited edition 'Beatles Singles Train Pack'.  This consists of a class 73 locomotive and two large/long wagons (or box cars for our colonial friends <g>).  This includes a certificate, mine is only 011 of 1000, very nice Smile

Indeed, and the collection of Beatles themed rolling stock isn't complete yet. There are 5 more 'album' wagons and another train pack containing a small loco and a number of small wagons (same size as the album ones) for the Beatles EP's. The whole lot together should look pretty cool once they are all in my hands Smile

If I'm not wrong, wasn't this that listing, where hornby showed both sides at once on their website, I always thought that was very misleading as it almost looked like you were getting 2 locos and 4 coaches.

The motor bogie runs well, from my experience with another engine, however I woul only recommend oiling the gears from the bottom

I've never seen such a early number from the
limited production models, so I'd say you got quite lucky

Can't wait to see a nice long train of all the coches!

You are dead right it is the one with different images on the wagon sides so that it looks like you're getting 4 wagons when in fact it's only 2.  The loco has the same illustration on both sides so that's not so bad.  Not the greatest value to be honest, but as I got all the other stuff so far its sort of essential for the collection - Super will understand what I mean Big Grin

I understand. If you really want something the price isn't really that important, all that matters is that you are happy with the item that you received

Wait and see what I'll be posting pictures of soon, tonight I picked up a whole collection of original vintage Hornby Dublo stuff.  This includes a nice base train set (a princess class loco with a couple of carriages), plenty of extra track, several sets of points, various buildings including a signal box, station, footbridge etc...  Some trackside figures, even original power supply and controller etc...  Quite an unusual score, everything is metal, it's even 3 rail as opposed to the more normal (these days) dual rail HO/OO systems Smile
