Look at the Big Box-O-Fun that the Postman just dropped off. Can't get into it right away as I was working on my Taxes. Wonder whats inside? Smile

Oh wow Super, that was so nice of you! I'll PM my address to you as soon as I remember where I live!Wink
Well I have to admit that the very first item I pulled out was a disappointment....I think. This Stephenson The Spy Train was new in the box and it looks that way but to my dismay there is no Mater or Lightning McQueen which I always assumed were included. I also was expecting the box to be bigger than what it actually is. Can anyone possibly translate if it says they are or are not included? I have had my eye on this set for quite a long time for the Future World Collection but it rarely shows up and when it does it the price goes quite high. We have tons of the Official Pixar Cars but they are just a bit too big to fit in the train. Might someone know what that Raceway set is called in the picture below and if its made by Takara as maybe those cars are the right size since Stephenson is part of the picture. Or maybe they are simple part of the Tomy Tomica Line.

Tomy/Takara do make a range of 'Cars/Cars2' toy cars, I've seen them on Amazon and various other places, it seems they had the licence for them in japan rather than FP or whoever did them over here in the west.

I can't be sure of the size obviously, but if they are the same size as the normal Takara cars they will be around the size of matchbox/hot wheels so quite a bit smaller than the official Cars/Cars2 models which are about 1/60th rather than 1/72nd size
Happily collecting things all my life... Big Grin

You are probably right Nigels. Looking at the picture below of part of the box back there is a list of Tomica Stock numbers which all are from Cars 2. Problem is they didn't list Mater and Lightning McQueen. I have ordered both but there are so many different Tomica releases for each character. I am pretty sure I got the right Mater but not so sure on Lightning McQueen. They are 1/64 scale which should be right...I hope. Mater has machine guns on his fenders and I tried to match up McQueens spoiler but the pictures on the back are quite small so I had to take a chance. Hopefully they are the right ones and I will keep them in the set for Future World. I am going to make a short video of this once I get those on the Disney Layout along with another set inside this Big Box-O-Fun.

Don't ask...I don't know why. Call it M.A.W. (Might As Well) or call it M.O.W. (Moment Of Weakness) I just don't know. For many days I talked myself in and out of buying these mostly because I loved the look of the shiny Silver Tankers and that I didn't have them. (cue the movie Lord of the Ring "My Precious") The picture does not show very well how shiny they are. The problem is I literally have a bucket full of Tankers right now. Way more-so than any other piece of Rolling Stock. I will have to sort through all the tankers I have and do a little thinning. Of course I will be keeping the silver ones, after a grey wheel swap but I am not sure yet if I will keep the green and gray ones which, by coincidence, are my old High School colors.

I too like those silver ones, very cool and that you found so many together. I have a ton of the yellow and white ones from large lots.

Me too Mr Ripley, I also like the highly detailed long silver tankers of which I have several.
tankers are rare. I can't wait to see you have to sell on ebay Wink.
