Turns out Super, the Blue one is a new one using AA, the red one is the older C battery style. (03-14-2017, 07:04 PM)leylandvictory2 Wrote: I actually like the cargo. To those who don't know, you can actually remove the white cargo to make the rolling stock shorter (for the old version). I am not sure if the newer version can do the same thing. It does look to have 4 screws underneath where it could be removed. This is a good example why Plarail's habit of not changing the item number on re-releases could (not you Ripley) fool one into thinking they have the latest release of a train but receive the older model. In this case they use the same item number for the new, updated AA Red EH500 Kintaro, S-25 as the original C battery release. Very confusing for the novice. I don't know why they just don't add something to the number like S-25A or S-25.1 for a simple way to differentiate between updates. They do this with all their trains, Track pieces and scenery parts. It really gets confusing when they use a retired number of a particular part with a newly released, totally different item. The fix seems so easy. (03-14-2017, 11:19 PM)ripley802 Wrote: It does look to have 4 screws underneath where it could be removed. You shouldn't have to use screws to remove the Schnabel cars load, it just pulls apart and the ends can be joined like Leyland says to make the load-less, short, Schnabel just like the real ones do. Check out the 1:00 mark of Wasinojensei's video for how to do this. Boy I miss Wasinojensei"s Plarail videos. His plain HD unboxings were very good and I still use his site to watch the older train videos to see exactly what originally came in a box.
Also there are three Plarail versions of the Schnabel Car in case you didn't know. My favorite, the Black and White version being the hardest to find followed by the not as plentiful White Load with Blue and White truck ends and the common, easy to find, White Load with all Blue truck end pieces. The loads are all interchangeable. I do like the articulating trucks on these as the usnit is so long.
