Downsizing - or maybe not.... R/C Galore!

Come to think of it, I did purchase a Multimeter about a year or so ago but I ended up returning it because I was confused about all the dial settings and just didn't seem worth the time & trouble of studying how to use it. Just too many dials, switches and settings. All I wanted is a simple machine that just tells the volts, nothing fancy, but it doesn't seem like anyone makes one that is for dummies. They say its easy but if it doesn't just work with an on/off switch then it may not be right for me.

Yes, I had the same issue. All of the videos and tutorials make it seem very simple but I never get it to work right.

I am making a "Benchtop Power supply" from an old computer power supply so I may need a good multi meter now. Another project...lol

If you dont like all the settings, buy a digital multimeter that is auto ranging so you dont have to worry about setting to the voltage range, especially if your not sure or the voltage you want is in the middle of 2 ranges. You just turn the knob to a/c volts, d/c volts, ohms, and so on. You just have to watch for the moving decimal point.

I know, right... I have been away from the Japan auctions for about 2-3 weeks, but can't stay away from eBay..

I know what you mean, I said to myself when the Advance ALS station shipped once it had arrived I wasn't going to go near the Japanese auctions again this year. But then unfortunately I looked and saw a couple more of the Galaxy 999 Capsule trains and well... I don't think I need to tell you anymore

It must be a popular one. I was looking for a spare R/C Percy that I already had but now in this lot there were several trains but no remotes..

I will be on the look out for some though and will keep you in mind..

The r/c molly I have that I talked about its restoration a bit in a previous thread, the remote is dated 2006 and the train is 2009. I think the design of the remotes was made in 2006 and as they made new trains they justed dated them when they were created. I think this mainly because my James and Thomas remotes are 2006 but the James and Thomas trains are 2007.

I'm very interested in steam along parts, a James remote (logic board burned out), and perhaps one or 2 of the battery cars from the r/c trains.

The 2006 Molly with the white deck is a HitToys and the other 2009 Fisher Price verson has an unpainted red deck.
