heya tramp. can you believe i paid a whole $10NZD for the two d51's? they both run amazingly quietly, from my quick "battery in to make sure it works", and neither required much work, just the usual unwinding of fluff from the axles. the insides look pretty clean.

i really like the steamers from this range. i think ive seen a c12 on google, but looked at so many over the last few days theyve blended together, lol.

A real bargin, $10 is great I'd struggle to pick up a single engine for that in the UK

This is like our c12

Although ours is more play worn than this one, I like the old tomy range of steamers too, I think they all have good drive units nd although they aren't scale or exact it's not really a problem because they run so well!

any chance of the link or pic of your mt fuji set? especially interested in the plakids.

I haven't received the set yet but here are the sellers listing pictures which shows the box. The little Plakids cart seems to have had the stickers torn off but I don't mind as I will remove the rest and make some home made decals to maybe make the it a hot dog stand,,,hmmm wonder if I can find a tiny umbrella.

What attracted me to this listing was the 2 blue bridges and low starting bid. I was the only bidder and got this whole set for cheaper than what I had spent on 2 other blue bridges. Got lucky so maybe the Plakids and Mt Fuji will be bonuses if I use them as all the blue track and trees will be sold off.

good stuff! id love a closer photo of the plakids on the box when it arrives, so i can try and find the correct ones for mine. never seen the cart before... thats cute! if you really dont want the trees, i will buy them.
that c12 sure is cute. good thing my wallet doesnt have legs, otherwise itd be running away right now...

tried mt fuji and it fits the red circle nicely. has about a 1cm gap most of the way round, so no room for other trees etc to be placed. could put a few plakids if you were using a flat surface so they stand by themselves.

Thanks Sunhuntin for checking if the Mt Fuji will fit in the red U-Turn track. Of course I will send you a close up picture of the Plakids when they arrive but if the seller sends me the original box you can have it if you want along with the trees as I don't have a need for either and would rather see it go to someone who would appreciate them. No charge, except for the cost of shipping. I will let you know when it arrives.
super... that would be awesome!! thank you. Big Grin thats brilliant.

mt fuji should fit the red circle almost perfectly. might be a bit snug in places as the base isnt a perfect circle. i have to take all mine up in the ceiling with the rest and have a red circle sitting out, so will give it a try.
as for the trains, i think they are based on real life, but how close i dont know. gerisplarail is very on to it with japanese trains and might know the answer.

any chance of the link or pic of your mt fuji set? especially interested in the plakids.

Hi guys yes these magnetic couple-rs are very real and very cool, not only are they used to have EF freight engines transport the Shinkansen but for two Shinkansen to travel together. as you can see in the video they are not magnetic in real life but it is a great way to simulate it with the Tomy trains.

Here is a video:

Thanks Gerisplarail1 for the link. That video explains it all. I really thought that those couplers where just something invented by Tomy for their toy trains. I had no idea they are based on real couplings. Very interesting and they couple together quite closely but I guess there aren't any sharp turns on high speed rails. [Image: snickering.gif]
No problem Super anytime you are wondering about Japanese trains ask, I will be glad to discuss it as I am thoroughly in Love with them, and if it something I don't know I will research it because I love learning new things as well, one of the perks about this Hobby is that I am always learning!
awesome video, geris!

bought these two last night:

$30 and it has its box. i googled and couldnt find any others that way, nor did i see any on jauce.

$20 with box
[Image: 312895722.jpg]

the seller also had this, but i felt it was too expensive [$60 with box]

for the 3 above i was looking at $30 shipping on top of that.

and i forgot to bid on this [$25 with box]

am hoping the sellers will offer out the last 2 at a lower price, but will see what happens.
