Corrosion beyond belief!!...a horrible mistake:(

I was hoping to post a video of our Plarail Talk 'n Action Percy to share here on BPT, but when I went to finally put batteries in him, I found to my horror that when we received him in mint condition inside the box I assumed he had no batteries and neglected to look inside...:O

The tab on the battery terminal just disintegrated the moment I touched it and has to be replaced and repaired now

I know the damage batteries can do, so that must SUCK! You'll get it going eventually, just in time.

I haven't even opened him up to look behind the compartment yet...those batteries were 2003!!! That's 12 years ago...the batteries were flattening out into lumpy globs they'd been in there sooooo long!!...just don't know when I'll find the time to try and fix it...bummer.

While going through all the extra stuff I have to list on Ebay I am coming across lots of trains with batteries in them. C size AA and AAA's. Now I don't mind the battery's being in them because I always open everything up I receive to make sure they work but its all the unnecessary added weight to the shipping charges that I would rather not pay.

On another note, I recently repaired my Talking Percy. It's moving again.

Also, once upon a time, some Plarail sets came with batteries installed.

did you get all 3 out? mine was starting to turn into a mess too but I saved it in time.

Yes I got them all out...still haven't looked any deeper internally for more damage yet..fingers X'ed:S
