is this Alfie actually made by Tomy or is it a post Mattel/Fisher Price?

if it is Tomy may I see a photo of the packaging if not Tomy don't bother with pic.

Howdy Geris!

This is a HiT Toys TrackMaster motorized Alfie; TOMY never released much merchandise of the Sodor Construction Crew, but HiT Toys filled a consumer gap during their short-lived reign.

Thanks that is what I figured. I would ask that calling something Tomy only be done when it is produced by that company as it may confuse people such as myself, Who have collected Tomy for years but are just getting into the Thomas end of it, Yes I went backwards from most haha!
That's all right, Geris; I'm not sure how I'm a master of HiT Toys TrackMaster, but some TOMY engines were actually sold under the short-lived reign.

Case-in-point: My Rosie engine is actually the Plarail/TOMY USA model that I had purchased underneath the packaging of HiT Toys TrackMaster.

I know there was a transitional period but since Alfie was not part of when Trackmaster was selling Tomy Trains with Trackmaster packaging it should in no way be connected with Tomy! as the title of this post implies.
Very true; I was often confused to hear rumours of the "transitional" phase and, the more disturbing thing about my Rosie, was that it was still in play until the near close of HiT Toys' reign for the TOMY/TrackMaster line.

There doesn't seem to be any images of a NIB Alfie on the internet, so I'm posting one...I see your question about his maker has been answered too...

Thanks but you did not need pictures as I do not buy or collect any non Tomy trains/vehicles. I am sure others here will appreciate the pictures. I was mislead by you calling something Tomy that is in fact not.
Yes my apologies...I've corrected it.Smile
