who can read japanese please? [ride on related]

2 Replies, 4101 Views

i know we have someone who can read/translate, but do you think i can remember who?? my excuse is its been a long weekend with not much sleep or food, and no i wasnt out on the town. we had a steam train come to town so i was helping with that.

anyway. the reason for the thread! i found this on jauce and am curious about the crank handle. the others like this have a regular handle bar and run on batteries. mr wepn has an idea it might be powered by turning the crank.

if anyone can translate the writing in the yellow box in the attachment, it might give us an idea of how it works.

This is a big toy.

[The Box]
It says it does not use batteries.

The rider can be up to 35 kilograms.

[The instructions]
The set comes with 2 straight rails and 8 curve rails.

[The middle part with the diagram]
- (The Handle) (on the right)
Turn to make the train move.

- (Whistle) (under the handle)
Press to hear a whistle sound.

- (Foot rest) (under the whistle)

- (Storage lid)
Open and you can store small things in here.

*I need a higher resolution photo to verify this*

[The bottom part of the instructions]
- Suitable for children aged 3 to 6 years old. Warranty only covers children below 35kg
- When using for the first time, carers must ensure that children are using the toy correctly.
- Please lay the tracks in a place that is flat
- *Cannot make out the last sentence*

I hope this helps.

plarnold, you are a legend! thanks so much. ucwepn was correct, the handle makes it go. the photos are from the listing, so cant get any bigger res.
wouldnt mind buying it, but two things put me off... the lack of battery power, and the price. they want 9800yen, which is close to $100nzd, thats without fees, shipping etc.

its one of a range of ride on toys from tomy, but the first i had seen with a crank handle. the kid riding it would have to be fairly co-ordinated.

thanks again, plarnold.
