Yes in the Percy/Rocky set, Rocky is non-motorized...
This is the second time that this engineering nightmare has been packaged along with other trains to sell it...
It was designed to be motorized, but some sort of design flaw either in conception or production that produced a product that had no place to deliver power from a battery( it's even fitted w/ the large coupler...
I have taken one apart and it seems that it was just a giant blunder that was salvaged instead of scrapped and repackaged to not take a loss...
It's cool and so is the motorized version, but it still was a mistake.

Hi Geris you need the Trackmaster version if you want the motorized crane movement, the hook line extends and retracts.

I am not concerned about it being motorized, Just want it to be Tomy. That is very interesting about the design blunder sounds like Tomy got in a little bit over their heads haha
Sorry I was away a couple days..
Here's a Personal favoriteSmile
No Plarail Thomas collection can be complete without Bash!!..whom Plarail shrewdly released and packaged ONLY in this box set...

Thanks Muddy, nice looking set except for the elevated circle. Is that all it is or does it connect to the lower circuit with sloped rails? I didn't know that Bash or Dash came in a set. Thought they were individual purchases or am I confusing them with Trackmaster.
Trackmaster B&D are both easily accessible and sold separately or together in the logging loco set, but Plarail makes only Dash available as a single train to buy, and packages Bash ONLY in this set.

very nice set. I did not know you could only get dash this way. so dash is not sold independently?

I recently came across a train I had never seen before? a green Duncan. it is motorized but not sure of the maker? any info on this?
