I am shocked and disappointed that THIS announcement a few days ago from Therealblack64YT (post #68) about a brand new Plarail train, accessories and Station, that will be released this summer hasn't generated much interest and discussion here at BPT. I would have thought this to be a huge news but apparently not. I am not Potter enthusiast as I have never seen or read anything about it but I thought the series was great fan favorite and would have generated some excitement, at least more than I have seen here. I must have been wrong. At the very least I would have assumed that the news of a brand new type of train from Plarail in the original type and not some re-release or commuter style trains or ES series or GOGO would have garnered much happiness and talk. Not even much joy about a completely new genre train which, who knows, may spawn into more items. Well no matter...I am excited to be adding this to Supers collection as soon as possible.

Well I have a granddaughter who loves watching HP and playing with Plarail. I know that if she saw this she would insist on it. She is in Japan for a few more days and I wonder what she has nagged her poor parents into buying for her.
Many will turn this hall class into the Thomas-fan character "Sodor Castle", and I would do too haha.
HaHa...I am too old to understand all that haha
I’m not a huge fan of Harry Potter.. same is with most of my family, and besides that, I’m the only one interested with Plarail

Further to MrKirby48's response, it appears that Sodor Castle is a fictional locomotive created by a Thomas fan who calls himself Rhydyronen and is named after the castle on the island of Sodor in the same way that the GWR 'Castle' class locomotives on which he is based were named after castles in the GWR area of operations. The Hogwarts Express locomotive is a GWR 'Hall' class; there were also GWR 'Manor' and 'Grange' classes. All of them were 4-6-0 and superficially similar in appearance. An additional bit of trivia: Rhydyronen is the name of a station on the Talyllyn Railway, it is of course Welsh, and translates to 'Ford of the Ash Tree', or more simply 'Ashford' in English. I may be wrong, but I think that in the UK at least the Harry Potter fan-base is predominantly female; which is not to say that there aren't female or indeed 'other' Plarail enthusiasts because I know there are. I dare say it may all be different in Japan though.
Thanks Dr Chris
I am also curious that since this train is going to be released in the Real Class series are the Real Class rails included especially that Stop and Go that, so far, is only available with the recently released and not easily attainable Island Platform Kit. Wondering if the front plate and side name plates are stickers or painted.
I don't think there's any additional information available yet aside from what you can infer from that one image. I note that you haven't asked about the significance of Platform 9 3/4 yet?
