Am I supposed to ask about Platform 9 3/4....I don't know what that is?
Shocked & Disappointed (Harry Potter Hogwarts Express)

Platform Nine and Three-Quarters (Platform 9¾) was a hidden platform at King's Cross Station in London. Magically concealed behind the barrier between Muggle (=non-magic people) Platforms Nine and Ten, this Platform was where Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry students boarded the Hogwarts Express every 1 September, in order to attend school.
In order for someone to get onto Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, they had to walk directly at the apparently solid barrier dividing Platforms Nine and Ten. When returning from Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, there was a guard stationed just outside the ticket barrier, in order to regulate exits from the platform through the gate, in order to not alarm the Muggles. We old people know that too. ✊ And we do have Google. ![]()

^ Precisely.
@Super: Remember that "black thing on the platform" you thought was a barrel? That's meant to be a trolley with Hedwig (Harry's pet snowy owl) in her cage on top of Harry's luggage. The real King's Cross station has a sign for the fictional platform on the wall between platforms 9 and 10, as well as the rear end of a "disappearing" trolley for photo opportunities. They even used to have a September tradition where the departure boards would list Hogwarts among the real stations, and a bunch of costumed Potterheads would gather to re-enact the scene/s where the wizards and witches board the Express.
Thanks for the info fellas, without it I would have never known. Either one of you be interested enough to wanting to add this to your collections?
Maybe Mister No, but I'd more likely scratchbuild my own version inspired by it; albeit in a brighter shade of red (perhaps metallic), loco-drive and with non-opening coaches.

Getting a realistic looking train would involve buying four sets so as to get the four coaches required, which would be ridiculously expensive. However, although Spencer's coaches are not quite the right model, I do think they might look OK. It depends on how close the colour turns out to be. But I would turn the Hogwarts Express into a regular GWR Hall Class (Paint it in green) since I'm not a fan of Harry Potter. I do like some parodies based on Harry Potter tho. I am not particularly a fan of the Tender (pushing) trains either so I will be interested in seeing videos of it actually running hopefully in a few weeks at the Tokyo Plarail Expo. That being said, I will be purchasing several of these to remove what I want from the sets and then hopefully recouping some of that cost selling what is left.
