Trafford Park Railway Map Community Project

Greetings people of BPT!

Back in 2021, I made a thread about the Trafford Park industrial railway and said that I started creating a map of the railway.

I thought this was a doable task but....I realized that this task is too big for me to complete all by myself.
So here's how you can help!

I've had an idea for something experimental: an open community project where anyone with a google account can edit and contribute to the map at any time.

If you wish to contribute anything (photos, videos, points of interest, lines) then feel free to do so. Share your knowledge! The very few images I currently have on the map are ones from google maps or ones that I got permission to use by the owner.



Explore the map here! All lines are clickable and have a little fact file with them.

Your best bet for development of this project is probably railforums.co.uk

Sounds like a good suggestion Dr Chris. Some of the problems I encountered with the map were that the rail network often changed or got rerouted (especially with the redevelopment of the road system in the late 20th century) and information on a lot of lines was sparse. Photos/videos of TPR operations would be lovely as I obviously don't have any of my own.

I read a lot of things on the railforums and I definitely have to create an account on the page.
