Track Pack...Anyone Seen Them?

Sounds to me like Tomy (sorry Takara Tomy) have intentions to have a 2 tier PlaRail product range going forwards, the old original plarail and now this new 'Real PlaRail' with 'Real Trains' and 'Real Track' etc... Makes sense if these new 'Real Trains' do look more realistic...

Mind you I would argue that the original PlaRail advance would have fitted that label as they were closer to real scale (albeit N scale) and did look far more real than the standard PlaRail do. Not that I'm knocking PlaRail, I think it has a place in this world as a relatively cheap introduction for kids to the world of train sets. Something sorely needed in Europe as 'real train sets' are getting way too expensive to be bought with pocket money and probably too expensive (not to mention fragile) to be given to kiddies. Hornby have tried this with their playtrains range, but frankly they suck in comparison to PlaRail as they are too toy like to hook kids onto real train sets as they get older and they also have very limited track options.
Happily collecting things all my life... Big Grin
