I do think that Plarail Advance should deserve a second chance. Plarail Real Class is good, but yeah, not convincing enough for me to get one.
The size is still standard Plarail, the standard wheels still show unlike Advance which sits low enough to hide the actual wheels. Advance's more-lengthy car also help with immersion of having a (not yet) scale model.
I'd like to see if the next batch of Real Class is good enough, would the extra details on an already detailed standard Plarail train help much.

So the ends of the sleepers stick out of the side of the rail in mid-air, which looks a bit weird. The only possible reason being so that you can turn the curves over and use them the other way round. I'm not sure whether I'd have preferred sleepers that rested on the ground, with the drawback that you'd need separate L & R curves (and switches etc. in due course presumably).

Maybe tbr sleepers were done on purpose so that that real die hard fans can apply ballast stones below the sleepers

Doh!!!

I forgot to say what my disappointment was in my last post that caused me to cancel my pre-order of the Odakyu Romancecar,....

It is...the fake wheel trucks on the bottom of the shells aka..The Plarail Chuggington Series. Why did they do that 😢

Yeah!

Even though Plarail Advance also has fake bogies, the train sits low enough that its shadow just hides the actual wheels away! That and it's longer car (relative to its width) makes Advance feel more like a scale model (almost).

I find it funny that Plarail and Lego are somewhat parallel for some reason, both are finding ways to get more adults into their products. Though Lego's way is to make their builds looks so detailed you won't know it's Lego from afar, Plarail Real Class still feels more closer to standard Plarail than to a scale model.

I don't know, maybe Plarail Real Class would grow on me if I ever to decide to get one myself.

Me in the UK - Pretty good, now make a Plarail Real Class of the Virgin Train from the Tomica World line so we have a more detailed Plarail version of the HST, probably the most famous high speed train of the modern era in the UK Big Grin

Suspect it'll be all Japanese models anyway, like usual [not that that's a bad thing].

Well, I can dream anyway, right lol?
Been building Plarail worlds since 2001; Building when I can in 2023 Cool

Thanks for that Link Leyland. The pictures on that site shoes great views of the top clearance and why the trains come with lowered top pieces. It also shows how those open sleeper rails look on a bridge.
The day has come, Plarail Real Class has officially released and here're the pictures I've collected on Twitter if you guys want to have a closer look.

How the contents are arranged

And uhh...someone has already made a cursed customised version of one of two Real Class trains

Funny image, and someone has been saving up and bought themselves an entire fleet

I'll give this set a chance and bought the Odakyu one, should anyone import the set and sell them locally
