If there are missing ones in the Cab I would say there is a good chance there are missing ones on the inside and front to.

well, there isn't really a good way of seeing if the screws are stripped
guess i'll need that kit, or find some other way to remove them

Keep us informed Stain as this is an interesting case

i'll see if i can get a small drill and a screw extractor, as for weights i'll see if i can obtain another gordon.
however, i had to sell an arm and a leg to get this one so i'm not sure about it

Super, only the Powerful Gordon has weights in it's cab, the standard ones don't.

so do i have a powerful gordon with a normal shell?

I am no expert in the Thomas trains so my ideas are only that. The reason I bring up these weights is that I had remembered that Powerful Gordon Mike had mentioned them in his video tutorials for creating his very well done Powerful Gordon Tribute Trains. In one video he mentions something like...The real Powerful Gordon has shiny chrome weights in the Cab windows and the regular Gordon's are not chromed. He also mentions in another video he mentions about taking a regular window weight, cutting it down and using it to add to the inside of the motor housing as the real Powerful Gordon has additional weights inside. I would always refer to someone who has first hand evidence of something so expertise is most welcome

BTW: watching his video tutorials for Gordon will give you a look at and how to, disassemble and re-assemble Gordon's motor housing and gearing.
