I was already not a fan of the odd proportitions of the trains, but that's negotiable. Lack of freewheeling is a complete dealbreaker for me because I've been acquiring TMaster and Tomy for my son who likes to be able to push the trains back and forth. Several other parents I have spoken to have also said that their kids like to push them as much or more than to run them.

One thing I do like is the $10 3-pack of rolling stock. The stock is basic and the stuff you build with the cargo is a bit cheesy, but I'll probably be picking up one or two for my son's trains. I hope they make more versions of them.

Luckily I've already got dozens of engines, and plenty of the Tomy blue and TrackMaster Brown Track.

Ucwepn,
Are the new TakeNPlay reallyplastic bodied or just cheap looking metal?

I found that the only way to make these new models free wheel is removing the motor-- quite literally, that little turbine engine has to be removed from the engine completely to allow free wheeling capabilities.

I do not have a big issue with the new TrackMaster range. I like parts of it, I like the idea of what Fisher-Price wanted to do, and I think if we hadn't have any previous versions before we'd be quite happy with what we see now, but knowing what it used to be like, It's just not up to its standard we'd like it to be. On a side note, it's nice that we finally get to see what the inside of Fisher-Price is like to see how they design their products.

Trouble with Troublesome Traps Set with James

Quality control issue. Missing connector.

Hope this is rare!

Yesterday was my grandson's birthday.
Happy to give him the new set.
Unhappy that the track was defective.

Thats too bad. Looks like it was in the mold process. Is there a Customer Service number to call?

We are just going to replace it with a new one. I am sure it was a error in the mold process.

Errors would be worse in this printed car.

Thanks for letting us know and providing evidence! Issues like this should be brought to Fisher Price's attention so they can improve quality for everyone Big Grin
