Now I saw these for sale and I didn't think that anyone would bid on it with an opening price of $500, but BOY OH BOY WAS I WRONG

Wow - I have a bunch of these new in the box. Didn't think they are that rare though.

I think the word 'rare' needs to be limited use on eBay. I see very common Plarail trains listed as 'rare' with a crazy asking price. Mostly because they were not released in the local market but it doesn't make them rare or particularly valuable.

These on the other hand...

I think that we can all agree that the Tomy US release Amtrack train is one of the most sought after in the entire World. For just the Engine and the 2 coaches can demand a very high cost. The train was part of the Tomica World Super Spiral Set exclusively released by the TV show Home Shopping Club/QVC. The set by itself without the train and to a lesser extent the double station, isn't that rare as far as whats in it, tracks and risers can easily be found elsewhere. So when I see a Listing for the set that has No Box and......."NO TRAIN"  for $499 USD plus $25 shipping I have a good chuckle. Big Grin

Just wondering if this station is exclusive to this set? Definitely not worth 50000 yen without the train and the box.
