We have talked about these in the past as they are so neat. I liked them because they seem to take up less room in a Layout that the newer, red, U-turns. I don't think we discussed the fact that the outside rail at the top of the loop was raised at least I don't remember it having that. We did discuss how the width of the entrance and exit was probably so a train wouldn't de-rail going through such a narrow diameter turn and how the rails width was so unusual. I know Sunhuntin has a set of these and my efforts to obtain always were met with much competition in the auctions. It is an interesting piece for sure.
