Boy...Hurricane has a big face. Is that 'Beeping' coming from him?

Yes, the characterisic resolute beep! beep! is Hurricane's whistle from Journey Beyond Sodor. Right, he has a big face, but he is a very large tank engine, so it suits him! Hurricane is based on the GER Class A55 "Decapod", an experimental tank engine named so for its ten driving wheels (later rebuilt to an 0-8-0 tender engine). It was designed to prove that steam locomotives could compete with emerging electric locomotives. It achieved its goal on 26th April 1903, during stormy weather. Smile

Frankie is a very nice diesel, and I wish Tomy made her and Lexi motorised too, but...

Thanks Mr No, I had to check for some pictures on the GER Class A55 "Decapod", after you mentioned its name and what a beast. Love those 10 big wheels.

Here comes Arthur... with other engines who love the sea air and the smell of fish! Big Grin

One of the nicest looking locos in the Thomas ranges, and a nice character in general. I'm surprised I have yet to see many repaints of him to look like a real Ivatt 2-6-2T or other classes (though I have seen him turned into Ashima and Barry before).

Fun fact: I never once paid attention to this or knew about it, but real life examples of his basis were known at some point as "Mickey Mouse tanks"! Might give Supes a funny idea for his Disney themed layouts (or the "Future World").

I have always put Arthur on my List of 'Defacing Customs' as he is a prime candidate. Big Grin

I found this information: Arthur's class were nicknamed "Mickey Mouse Tanks", as their route indicator disks looked like the ears of Disney's famous mascot Mickey Mouse. ...but I really don't know what they mean by "route indicator disks". What are they?  Blush
