Thats a good question without an answer why they created a front slot with no easy way to add a hook. My only guess is that there is a blank coach chassis for a tail coach which would have a front hook. This Kiha-40 unboxing which shows the open front slot but no easy way to modify the motor chassis.

Tokyo Sakura Tram is an one speed train, but that speed is somewhat too fast for a tram I guess...
There are stickers for the little roof windows, but as I understand these windows aren't real windows on the real Sakura 9001 tram either. Front and back destination boards are stickers too, but everything else is printed.
It looks really beautiful.
