custom track

While I was searching for some Tomy train images, I came across to this pic from a blog ( https://tomy-trains.blogspot.com/2006/11...ayout.html )

Whoever created that special track is very good with his/her hands.  Very precise and accurate.  Nowadays you can in theory create the custom track using 3D
printer.

I think the same guy had a tutorial for building these custom track pieces. I may be confusing him with another Plarail blogger, though.

Nice solution, but I don't think that is specially designed and 3D printed track there, it's just someone who is very good with a craft knife and glue Smile

I also remember a video where a fellow made custom tracks. I think his were a little more work as he used putty. These look to be a simpler version where there is just cut - glue & remove some plastic. Never the less they are fine looking and gives me ideas Big Grin
It does make me wonder what we could come up with in 3D design software and with a 3D printer though Smile

Hi all,

I just found another custom track on ebay.

Without the track switch, the train will most likely derail at the switch point.

Interesting piece. Is that the only picture or information you found Leyland? Looks to be very well merged and I would be interested to know more. I agree with you on a possible derailment but maybe it was created as a one direction track as I wouldn't think there to be any trouble going from 2 into 1 as there would be going from 1 into 2.

Sorry, I thought I posted the link I guess I didn't.  Anyways, here is the link to the track above.

The track is 3D printed from the looks of it.  It resembles a HO Lionel track switch piece

Had similar track idea of this in my head that they should make it. Single to double track made from corner track.

The curve is not that sharp, it cannot be used in the inner curve from the looks of it unless you want a big curve in your layout.
