Note that the second picture that Duck posted above shows wide-radius curves in dark blue track. I'm not aware of them existing anywhere else.

Thats a beautiful box Dr Chris. Good eye on noticing those wide radius curves.

Interesting, the D51 with the mail van and whistle reminds me of the Plarail set with the "chuffing" mail coach. The German description doesn't seem to mention it, and the Plarail set has a cattle van and no tender, so probably not, just an observation that the components are similar

Set 03 is a exported version of スーパーひかり号 立体ステーションセット that was manufactured in 1989.

Yes, the entire Tomy Express line of re-boxed & re-badged Plarail trains was German.

How did you find all this Chris, when I looked for TOMY Express and TOMY Zubehör, nothing as clear as these images came out.
Was this a lost eBay auction?

They were both listed on eBay UK on Dec 1st. I saved all the images from both lots.

The listing of the three accessory boxes seems to have vanished after being tagged for a while as 'no longer available', I haven't asked why.  The images I posted above are doctored versions of the originals with their perspective distorted to make the boxes look square.
