Too bad my local Makerspace is closed today Sad I would’ve printed it already

thank you!!
I do rather hope someone prints him eventually, I would be glad to know if he actually fits the chassis or not 😅

A great looking design! It must have been a lot of work to model all the details.

Here's my first attempt, it works but it does not answer your question:

I don't have any spare official mechanisms but I do have some of my own making but these need the body to be slightly altered.

thanks!! I do have a chassis I 3d modelled to build him around, but again that wouldn’t really answer the question of if it fits the official one or not. lovely to see him printed out though!!

Test run.

Speed can be adjusted with the knob at the back of the engine. Due to its wider wheels it only just fits through the car wash!

Lessons learned include that control by a knob on the back end of a little engine is not a great idea for use with full-size fingers.

Heya everyone,
Just wanted to give a small heads up that I'm still alive lol. Also sharing my latest stuff I did for Plarail

After I finished the historical tram Tw181 with its two trailers I already eyed out the next victim. A similar vehicle, the Tw802. It is not completely finished yet but pretty close I'd say. EDIT: Also forgot to mention its printed for the EF66 Train base that can drive forwards or backwards for some shunting layout action.

Parallel to that I'm building a Plarail Winter layout. Finished the first track plan and now just gotta find time to build propper landscape

For it I even modeled an automatic switch that has no moving parts and can be configured to the own needs. Printing it double sided and being able to choose the preffered switching direction.

I would sure like to see your results of printing those switches when done. I don't know if its just me but images of the TW802 all come out to be the first real photo so I can't see your 3D printed model.
Thanks Super for the heads up. Added some more pictures

Cheers
