Trackmaster Push Along is Mattel's response to the Adventures line not performing as well as they wanted. They came to the conclusion that people weren't buying since they weren't compatible with other ranges, but I personally believe that it was because nobody wanted to buy something like Thomas's Robot Pirate Shark Island Adventure.

People just want Thomas as a train but Mattel is too concerned with Paw Patrol to try and stay in their lane unfortunately. Notice the big presence of animals in the franchise as of late?

Oh yeah, the truck and signal gantry in this set are lifted directly from the Motorized Railway line sold in the Asian market.

Also note the curves. They're no longer the 1/4 size pieces, 4 to make a half circle, 8 to make a full loop. Now it takes 6 to make a circle and that certainly limits the possibilities a bit. They did this with the Wood range too for seemingly no reason at all

I’m not really impressed. I wouldn’t necessarily refuse to buy this line but it lacks anything special to draw a customer to it.

I’m looking at this as a parent, since I don’t personally collect the various Thomas lines but I do buy them for my kids. Mattel has taken an extremely scattershot approach, along with a large dose of cynical “buy it all AGAIN” marketing that really damaged both the Wooden Railway and Take n Play lines. Now, we have yet another attempt to rework and rebrand in hopes of saving these lines from self-inflicted damage. While it’s apparently less cynical and more desperate, it still creates problems for parents buying this stuff for their kids. Regauging TnP/Adventures to fit standard Trackmaster track is great but what do you do about all those trains and sets you’ve already bought? And calling it Trackmaster just creates confusion since parents and kids are both left wondering which version of Trackmaster they’re buying.

Nor is it correct English.  The possessive form of a name is spelled with 's, even when the name ends with an s. The only exception is when the possessive form is not pronounced with an extra s, hence Socrates' philosophy.

The box should be labelled THOMAS'S MAIL DELIVERY.  So 0 out of 10 for effort on all counts, Fisher-Price.

Chris. you forget they speak American not English, so god bless them in their native tongue they got it right :p

Seriously it is just typical of the general dumbing down that FP endulge in, I mean look at the train/coach, sure it would (probably) be robust enough for a toddler, but it is just pathetic in terms of design to a child...
Happily collecting things all my life... Big Grin

"What's wrong with it", is that it is a Take'nPlay.
It is the same size, proportions, and has the same type of wheels as Take'n Play.
The only difference is that it has a front hook and rear coupler( if you want to consider it a rear coupler) instead of magnets.
It's not even comparable in dimensions to a Tomy Chirin in Tekoro as a non-motorized front hook engine.
It's a default product that is being forced into an aready established category of a well identified existing line, and it's just an insult to slap the Trackmaster brand on it.
