2 Wagons and Another Bridge

3 Replies, 5234 Views

Couple of things I picked up recently, a nice Marklin HO wagon advertising 'Alcatel' (a European Telecoms company) and a nice Roco HO flat wagon with an Esso tanker in a container frame. Finally an Atlas HO bridge kit, this is an American model so if you're on that side of the pond you should be able to find these.

Those are cool especially that Esso tanker crate and the graphics on the Alcatel wagon.
Roco and Markliin make some lovely wagons, the especially love the logo vans like the Alcatel one and you could make a hobby of just collecting those as they are many, varied and colourful. The other nice thing is the quality of the printing, hence why I took a closeup image of the Roco Esso tank to show you that black plate, believe it or not that is less than half inch square, yet you can read everything printed on it, if anything the picture doesn't do it justice Smile

Among my collection I do actually also have a couple of electric modern day Roco loco's that are similarly decorated with various logo's or images, but the nicest thing is they are actually modelled on real life loco's of that era (I bought them back in the early 2000's). The level of quality and detail of those sort of loco's is just incredible, they are literally a work of art both in execution and in operation when running, so smooth... Big Grin
