You sound a lot like me Sun, I tend to keep the boxes unless they are totally trashed, partly as they don't seem complete without them, partly for the re-sale potential if I ever found myself in a position where I needed to sell either for monetary or physical space reasons Smile

haha, i think i am worse than you. i once bought a vintage tomy set that i didnt need, the box was toast, but i knew if i didnt buy it, the box would likely end up in the garbage. i wrapped it in a plastic bag to help protect it, and its tucked away where it is fairly safe from more damage.

I don't save boxes for the trains and items that we play with, I do save the un-opened boxes that are in the Future World Collections for my Heirs to either open and enjoy playing with brand new toys from the past or to sell as new in the Future.

The Future World Part 1 (Thomas & Friends) has absolutely no previously opened boxes.
The Future World Collection Part 2 (Non- Thomas & Friends) does have some previously opened Disney boxes but they are as new.

I should make note that Neither of these Future World Collections are like normal people collections as they are not for me to enjoy, they are totally for my heirs when I am long gone.

I like to keep my boxes too, for re-sell value and for easy storage to repack the trains if moving houses or when not using them. But then again there's nothing wrong with having no original boxes for items too! Smile

I try to keep boxes for independent sets like the Thomas sets because they are designed to be played independently of the other sets.

Generic boxes like stations and extra parts are thrown away.

@Super,

I keep the boxes as They keep all of the parts independent of each other, and keeps the collection organised.

Wtg I'm surprised that super hasn't dabbled with capsule to date it's an excellent system with arguably a wider range than normal plarail

Capsule needs winding. Winding is fun until you don't want to keep winding to keep the train running.
