Something else to mention regarding the Thomas/Merlin set. Merlin has no decals/stickers. You get a sheet that has them in them which needs applied along with the ones on the bin where the plastic balls go and the buffer stop.
I hate when they do that. I would much rather have them factory installed or better yet no stickers but paint. Now if they would put in extra sets of stickers that may be better because if you make a mistake or damage a sticker trying to put it on. I do hate that.
What do the Diecast Thomas and Merlin look like Star?
I am not sure but based on the images of the gold ball and a promo video I saw which I am trying to now recall where I saw it. And the fact that i just opened my set and saw a gold ball.

Hmmm...that's very interesting, but if it's true
(We've all seen Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory), it seems like there would be quite a few counterfeit "golden ticket balls" that would begin to start popping up too. Did you get a gold ball? Super? Ripley? Starswitcher?
Play nice & have fun!!

@Muddy
I didn't buy that set, had I known about this I may have. Maybe everyone of these sets has a gold ball because they still are only entered in a drawing for 100 of the Silver Thomas's so that could include thousands of entries but how would they prove or enter?. Star, Ripley, do you have gold balls? (that sounded weird) |
