Christmas Haul - Part 2

Well, my first haul which I had a post of here turned out to be about 50/50 where there was quite a bit that would need repairs, etc... Still a lot that I “needed” er, uh, wanted, so it worked out.

But... I ended up willing another auction shortly after shipping that lot, so I then went on a “redemption” shopping spree. Lol...

First up are the Tankers. I had seen one lot that had a few, then I wanted a few more, and before I knew it, I had won all of these.


Next up was this guy. I had won the non motorized unit in the last auction wins so when I saw this for 500¥ I snapped it up.


This one was interesting, I won it for 1500¥ and it came with the box. A day or so after winning the seller reported that the box was MIA. I advised I still wanted it but asked for 500¥ reimbursement to which they agreed..


Since winning a non-working EF63-12 in that other set of auction wins I had been trying to get it to work but no luck yet. I figured if I had a working example (or two) it may be more helpful. Also scored the EF63-11 Motorized unit:



Next up are two items I have wanted for some time. I missed an eBay steal about a year ago and have been looking for a good deal since. I finally bit he bullet and got them both. And both are NIB (well opened now.. :-):




These next two were both NIB and were impulse buys. Both were from sellers I won other items from and had looked at the sellers items, saw them, and thought, hmm.. might as well.. I have he D51 already but was missing the box. I also have plans for using a Steam unit on one of the C62-2 sound units possibly.



And finally.. this is the purchase that started it all for this round of auction wins. I had won this one and the rest came along for the ride.

Ngl those real steam sets and the rotary snowplows have me drooling, and I have never before been interested in any non-Thomas trains other than for the purpose of turning them into Thomas characters! (I think you know what I have in mind for a rotary snowplow if I had one, but the D51 would just be awesome to have alone!)

Oh my...that is a Super haul for sure. That blue Monorail is my favorite. You must have had a jolly good time opening this shipment.

Aaaaaack!!! Oooooh....dang it dang it darney darn darn...you found the T'nA Thomas box!?!? I can't believe you didn't pm me to break the news to me and let me down slowly!?! Nope...blammo punch me in the gut! Lol
Those are all very awesome pickups!! I'm so happy that you finally got the snowblowers too!! The Benkie looks very choice as well! Also the steam and sounder...quite the excellent haul and very well thought out selections!

...still can't believe you've got the Thomas box.
Do you have all boxes for all the Japanese T'nA's now?

Thanks Muddy. Sorry about the TnA Thomas box I was thinking that one you had? But now rethinking it I recall you mentioned having the TnA box sets and not this one?

Actually regarding the boxes I have the following Japanese versions:
- Henry
- D10
- James
- Thomas

I won the TnA Toby woh box, but the seller later said they lost the item so the deal fell through. And I have not found a Gordon or Percy box yet, but still in the hunt.

Nice to see you still got the 'might as well' bug Mr Ripley, some nice items there, especially the real steam D51.

Out of interest have any of you seen these 'air humidifier' units that produce a stream of steam? I just recently got a unit that actually runs off a USB socket, say for example a laptop or whatever. The reason I mention it? Well the actual steam unit is pretty small (built into the plug that goes into the reseviour (contains just water and potentially an 'essential oil' for scent), this is connected to a cable that goes to a small unit that plugs into your USB socket. Well I seriously wonder if it would be possible to extract the smoke unit and fit it in an engine, then all you'd need is a ~5v power supply (could be batteries) to run it

Nope..I settled for the large T'nA Thomas box set..I have yet to find that Thomas box like yours or the Henry box...Your T'nA Thomas box is only the second one that I've ever seen come up for auction! I haven't seen another Gordon, Henry, or Percy box ever come up either..,
I did see the Toby w/box on eBay recently though!

This, along with the C62 set I recently bought (other thread) will be my last Japan auctions for a little while. I am hoping to start fixing some of the ones I have, sell a few, and rebuild the layout after the Christmas one was removed.

But anyway, this was one I picked up, hoping I can use it in a project I have in mind. It needs cleaned up and I have not tested it, but should work for what I need.
