two recent buys

had two good buys recently. first was the plarail "thomas crossing the bridge" set, and then the plarail MTR airport express deluxe set.

i got the thomas set for $20NZD and the MTR for $15NZD. fully expected a bidding war on that last one, but thankfully it didnt happen.

both sets are in top notch shape and run well. the MTR is much nicer than i had expected. just a shame it didnt have the box, but thats not a biggie.

so pleased it came with the box.

   

inset photos show detailing and numbers on engine and middle car. back car has no different images, and im assuming is used for luggage due to the lack of windows.

   

all the inset photos show the stickers on the station under the clear tunnel.

Wow...you got them for a steal. The brown bridge in the Thomas Crossing the Bridge set can go for nearly that by itself. I never knew that that bridge came in any other set besides the 50th Anniversary C-12 and Arched Bridge set. Speaking of steals you got another one for that complete MTR set, don't they go for way more? Were these New Zealand Auctions or Japan?

both were bought here in new zealand. the thomas set was listed as a pick up only, and when i asked if it could be posted, the seller put a buy now at the same time he said yes.

another great score today... $30 from a local thrift shop. kiwirail uniform overalls. this will go great with my collection of uniform vests.

Just a fantastic deal! Are the overalls waterproof? They may look good riding on your bike.

the legs feel like they might be, but theres no way they would fit. too small and too long. also, even though this color has been canned by kiwirail in favour of orange fluoro, im not sure on the legality of wearing them.
