Once you have it all and can't buy anything else you do feel empty. Glad that you are still buying

Collectors need spares to keep things running and also allow you to trade for unusual things you don't have Smile

Hoarders just collect crap lol!! Big Grin

hoarders simply dump everything on the group. Collectors store their collection in boxes or showcases.

Isn't that exactly what a Hoarder would always say to justify their huge hoard collections? Big Grin

Hoarders are the sort of people who live surrounded by 20 year old newspapers, carrier bags and similar, the sort of person you describe is a collector come trader Wink Big difference :p

Unless you do consider yourself a hoarder and/or are surrounded by old newspapers etc... Big Grin

Okay, so it's more like addiction then?Big Grin When I was active in various action figure groups back in the day, we used to refer to the hobby as "plastic crack"!

On a more serious note, I do often wonder when collecting becomes hoarding. I had business dealings with a man some years ago who was quite wealthy but seemed to have crossed a line between collecting and hoarding. He had a small staff and a pretty large house, so the worst excesses were kept in check. Also, the stuff wasn't just junk but amazing and expensive antiques and artwork. His house was dark and gloomy but the downstairs was maintained. The upstairs was full of junk as well as expensive rugs, furniture and other items. I recall a room with paperwork and magazines scattered around along with a brass HO locomotive, all left on top of an expensive oriental rug. Definitely an odd situation!

Here is the first of two shipments of all my depression purchases of which the second is coming soon.
Starting with the two large boxes in the back are items I never thought I would purchase.

Disney Resort 25th Anniversary Monorail. Never wanted one of these because they wobble but I thought one would look good on the Dreamin of Disney Layout. I am going to look into trying a modification to help lessen the wobble. Of all the Plarail Disney Monorails I like this 25th Anniversary because of the Character graphics, it has sound and its the only one that has the colorful upper paint. This one was open but everything inside is still new and wrapped and I got it for what I consider a steal as I think this version is the hardest to find.

Pokemon Train Set. Never thought I would be interested in this but I thought it would fit into the Future World Collection and it wasn't that much. This one also has all the characters which seem to be missing some or all in other sets.

DisneySea Set. I have been looking for a pair of the red male to male track adapters for our set since we received it without those. Every time I saw them they were either in a huge lot of tracks which would have cost a fortune to ship or smaller listings that went way to high. Believe it or not I got this complete set (box not included) for a little more than what it would have cost to buy small Lots with the adapters included. Needless to say this set will be sold and I will replace the adapters with blue ones.

Then there are the two rare green Emily Coaches to round out our 'Rule of Four' two brown Oigawa Coaches and the other stuff just came along for the ride.

This shipment has the only trains as the next box will be bigger due to the large Lots purchased for many rare bridges for me. This second delivery will be the last shipment ever.......thats right, ever.....why don't you believe me?

Awesome scores there Super. I love the DisneySea strand it along with the other (Toy story I believe set) have eluded me for some time. These sets do seem to sell for quite a bit even not complete or box less. I love the Monorail, can't wait to see that one in action on your Disney layout. Big Grin
