Yes Super, I hadn't asked for a refund from him, only expressed my disgust that they were all damaged in shipping, and had asked him simply for an explanation as to WHY he had blatantly lied that he had packed and shipped them as he said he did/would but hadn't?
That was about a week ago...then he responded with the above response!! I generally move very slowly before I've had my morning coffee, but when I woke up to read that he had decided what the intention of my purchase should be, I flipped my lid! I immediately called eBay, and after they read all of the corospodences, THEY insisted on refunding my money immediately. It was in my paypal account within minutes!

That's awesome, for you anyway. Glad to hear ebay finally came through.

Yes Ripley though it is still a hollow victory:/ As much as I am happy that eBay refunded the money, and really stuck it to him for being such a creepy seller, the boxes are irreparable and irreplaceable. Money can never fix them. They were pristine out of print limited production commodities. They were beautiful and as rare as rare gets. It is absolutely unforgivable that he intentionally damaged them forever... For that I am forever disappointed.

Its hard to believe how some people have no idea of what value really is. In his thinking you could by a new car and when delivered it was smashed up but since it still runs its Okay. What baffles about this fellow is that it looked as if you convinced him about how you wanted it shipped and he agreed...what a bonehead. I have had dealings with sellers like this in when I collected vintage PC games in their big boxes. Was at least one of the 3 boxes still pristine?
None of them survived unscathed.
All of the corners were bent, and the one with the least amount of corner damage had its cellophane window cracked. Funny I made the same exact car analogy myself. You buy a vintage mint Cadillac, the seller promises to put it on a flat bed, but instead drives it through a sandstorm to deliver it. Then says it's fine because it still runs!?!? Yes what the seller did was deliberate. If they were packaged as he said he would, and they were damaged during shipping it would have only been a shame, but to spitefully allow damage to them is a sin.

Ah yes...here it is!
It’s so nice that our every word is saved here for posterity. Funny that after commenting today, and then re-reading this old thread, that my recollection and words still ring true.
