What did you do to your trains today?

thanks for that, super. the ones im using are 48 by 48. the 32s would have worked for some, but not all, of the buildings. never mind, got the blues now. hehe.

did a mock set up today. i had wanted to run the trackmaster set independantly, but that left no room to decorate the middle, so had to rethink.
pretty happy with the final design... still got to draw a plan for it, as it has to be built twice more in december for our club christmas shows. along with this, i also have to decorate my toy story layout and set up the ride on train. my stuff is outside, so a fresh build required each time.
i had issues with small hands last year, so will be roping it off some. mostly littlies thinking the trains on the transfer station were stuck and needed a push, and one older [9+] boy who thinks because is lego, its ok for him to play with. ive had problems with him else where, and it doesnt help his mother is mostly hands off [out of sight, out of mind]

stripped down, after the decorations had been packed up. its 47cm from transfer station to bridge, and 65cm across.

the heavily modified tree. need to work on supporting it properly. its top heavy.

stringing the lights on the grandparents house.

toy shop, with horse and buggy delivery service!

bakery and skating pond. the candy canes i got from a craft store in canada, and hot glued them to lego studs. the glue has let go on several, so need to redo them. no damage to studs, surprisingly enough

post office and pavillion

tree sellers and canines eying up the turkey

another new addition this year, merry go round. im hoping to power this next year. got the motor, but its too fast. need to work out how to slow it down. the crank on top of the booth turns the merry go round and also the cups game

That is awesome Sunhuntin. So much detail and work put into your Lego buildings. Really like the new, Santa's Workshop. So much going on and to see. How many trips on the bike will it take to deliver all of this? Can't wait to see the final setup.

Will the cats fanny be a part of the finished layout like in the first picture? You should really be commended for all the time and effort you put into this so others can enjoy and add a little more to their festivities. I applaud you my friend.

awwww, thanks, super. Blush the cat wont be part of the display, but shes turned into my little shadow and likes to be with me as much as possible. she came to us a year or so back, and only moved inside when blackie died in april. shes slept on my bed ever since.

trips on the bike will be zero... for this i borrow mum and her car. but if it were going on the bike, thered be about 7 trips, but 4 of those boxes wouldnt fit on the back. the lego is in banana boxes, and majority of decoration in a big plastic tub.
im hoping i will have some space around the sides for trees etc. normally have heaps of room for a small forest, not this year, lol

Pretty soon Mum is going to have to buy a pickup truck to help you move those setups back and forth to the club. Or better yet, move across the street from the club Smile

LOL. there is actually a house for sale down the road a little, but the houses on that side are on steep slopes which need reinforcing quite majorly. one of the guys actually looked at a place right across the road, but when his car was in the garage, he couldnt open the door to get out! and then the only parking is on-road. a house next door would be ideal, with a gate in the fence, or secret tunnel... Big Grin

LOL...how about a tunnel that you can run your trains through to the club and back again for changes, tuneups or repairs. I can just picture a trap door in the clubhouse floor where you can disappear and magically reappear. LOL Big Grin

I filmed a vid of TM Edward running on my layout! Smile Plus, I finished up my 'Crocks Scrap Yard' mod. (Still a LOT to do though lol!Big Grin)

Hi! About the Merry-go-round, Have you tried the IR receiver? If you have a Power functions remote, you could chose the speed, like you would with a LEGO train... Smile Hope I was some help.
