My oldest son has been bugging me for weeks before it came out on Tuesday, I had to goto 4 stores to get one on blueray, most were sold out by 10am geez! I but thankfully I was able to find a copy! Were going to watch it tomorrow night, he can't wait (I kinda wanna see it too lol).
Just watched it. It is pretty good, a little different being more of a musical, but I love all the new characters. Now if Plarail would make some of these, that would be great.
Raul, Gina and Rajiv? From what I've heard, many of the international engines (only the latter of these three) didn't even get speaking roles, so I'm not expecting them to be made.
I think that ones that need a slight remold and new face will be made speaking role or not, I can't believe they made Glynn. And even Streamlined Thomas or star face Thomas who were just dream sequences.
That was why I said "only the latter of these three", because I did see Gina and Raul did have voice actors.
This movie was a big hit-and-miss with the Thomas & Friends community, and I understand why.
The moral itself is great, and probably would have worked with another engine (*coughGordoncough*), but I guess Thomas has to be the "star" of the film.
Truth be told, it felt like a poorly movie-adapted film of Season 11's episode, "Dream On".
The more upsetting thing is these international engines never even go the chance to speak:
Rajiv
Shane
Yong Bao
Vinnie has had a real mixed reception, given that he's a Canadian built and operated locomotive, yet he's given the flag of the U.S.A. to represent North America.
There's lots of potential in the film, but it wasn't flushed out properly and, hence, the reason it's a hit-and-miss.
Residential train-afficionado in training, and Thomas & Friends fan.
In celebration of the second anniversary of the Israeli TTTE Wikia, a scene from this special is to be dubbed into Hebrew, with an actress from HebrewTimeslations voicing Gina and Ashima. Hope it turns out well.
