Yep. All from the same sale. I was shocked as well. The lost and found HIRO was by far the best one I had seen. I will try and get some better pics later of anything if needed.

Congratulations Mr Ripley, seems you're in competition with me to get these big lots lol!! Nice to know I'm not the only nut round here that goes getting these sort of things Smile

The Hiro in the 3rd pic is superb, very hard to get methinks as I've not seen any on eBay UK to date, although to be fair I've sorta stopped looking for Thomas items as I've got so many other fingers in various pies lol!

In among the take & play destined for eBay (I assume) I notice the 'gold' loco, you should check that may also be a rarer item that could get you some cash back.

Overall congratulations my friend! Big Grin

I'm not sure about the Tomy's rarity..I am guessing it was made for foreign distribution and has variants from the in house Plarail's intended soley for Japanese consumers? I would have to say the Hits will always be the rarer, but any early Trackmaster's including the FP's versions will continue to become harder and harder to find.
Play nice & have fun!!Smile

Thanks Nigel. Yeah the HIRO is pretty rare. The ones I snagged before were either needing repair and sold cheap or in a lot where the seller did not know what it was. The gold Thomas was taken by my daughter and will not be given back.. Lol. At least for now. Big Grin

Well here is the post for day two of the garage sale find. A good time, but no Tomy or Trackmaster today.

I went through all of th trains and made a jeep and a sell pile. The keep pile as pretty small, things like, Murdoch, HIRO, Lady, and some others. I am hoping to get the other listed soon.

That said I ran into an odd issue or so I thought. Almost all of the "c" style battery trains, like D10, Diesel, Bert, Mavis, etc.. Did not work. I took the motor off the chassis, and still nothing. I was checking all of the trains the other day so I set these aside and was thinking maybe of making customs or repairing. Well I kept thinking about it and had another look this evening. These style motors do not have the motor soldered to the metal + and - pins/wires. Very odd because it makes for a bad connection or not one at all of it gets moved. An easy fix though, simply pop off the top plastic piece which is covering the two sides of the motor terminals. A tiny bit of solder and it was all good for me. Now these can go up for sale too.

I will likely be listing on eBay in th next few days if not this weekend. I had been watching a few listings to see if it may be better listing individually or in lots.

Would you happen to have any more photos of the two Rosies', comparing the pair side-by-side?
I know their bodies must be the same, but the faces do look different, and I'm almost certain there are other variances.
I like the darker colored Rosie's face better than the brighter pink Rosie's face. The eyes on the darker colored Rosie appear bigger, and spaced closer together. They look to me more like the current Rosie portrayed on TV, and I like that a great deal.

I am also quite surprised that you've found a Lost-and-Found Hiro in such good condition! What a haul!
