Ok, well as some of you know there's nothing more I like than a good job lot, so when two came along together I was in there like a ferret down a rabbit hole
The first was a large lot of used Takara PlaRail, usual sort of mix, loco's, track, supports, etc... but also had some interesting bits in it. The second was a bit of a sleeper. Now what is a sleeper I hear some of you ask? Well in this case the description was vague and the cover photo was of about a dozen brand new diecast airliners from various makers still on their cards, but look on the 2nd and 3rd photos and you would find a whole shed load of boxed trains of different types including some Takara models.
Anyway here's just a couple of pictures showing some of the stuff (I've not included pics of the airliners although there are some very nice ones in there
First the Takara Locomotives, in total I scored 27 of them!! The used Takara lot came with 9 used loco's of various classes all in excellent and working condition. The boxed ones in the 'mystery job lot' were a mix of brand new and used, but there were 18 of them!! I've not had time to try them yet, but they look interesting, one especially so as it is a 485 class express, but it is unpainted almost as if it is a promo or prototype model, I don't know if this is the case but its the only explanation I can think of - regardless an interesting addition to my collection
Then we have a bunch of bubble wrapped track and accessories - I not opened them yet, but thought you'd like to get an idea of how much there was (i.e. lots)
Then we have a mixture of odd bits and pieces, there are various type so trains, some pretty odd, a complete set (the one top left at the back), two wired remote controlled two car loco's (very like one Sun sent me a link of recently), some little boxes with 'N gauge' models and an interesting looking box on the top right side which turned out to be an alarm clock in the form of the front of a train - lovely big display about 6" x 2" if not bigger, dual alarm, horn or music as well for the alarms lol! I've put a picture of that at the bottom
