Grrr. I know we are on the same page that shipping is crazy expensive, but for some of the stuff, you just can't pass it up. At any rate, very nice items and great additions to the collection.

Indeed we are, agreed it's expensive, but if you win the goods cheaply enough then it all works out 'ok' in the end, especially with the number of goodies I got in this lot Smile

There is no such thing as Takara Plarail!

Plarail is Tomy.

The old Takara line is called "Pocketrain" or "Pocket Train".

I know, I'm not being technical or anal about it, people understand what the term 'PlaRail' means it isn't just a brand it's also a genre of toy trains. You only have to look on sites such as Jauce under the category of 'PlaRails' and you find many other brands other than just Tomy.

In comparison nobody knows what the term 'Pocketrain' means, at best they think of Pokemon which is totally incorrect. So better to 'cheat' a little and describe what it is rather than what it is called IMHO @D

Double whammy actually as the Japanese post office recently increased the cost of their EMS service, so it is doubly painful. But if I can't get what I want anywhere else it's an 'acceptable' cost... Smile

@Nigels,

Funny you mention that searching finds Takara stuff because I've never seen them when searching for Plarail. Maybe I'm using the wrong key words. Tongue

I just thought it would be better to refrain from using them because it may cause confusion for people new to the toys.
The current company is called "Takara Tomy" which sells "Plarail". Using the term "Takara Plarail" could refer to the real Plarail or the old Pocketrain.

The problem is similar to the Trackmaster and Trackmaster Revolution problem. Lots of people think it is just Trackmaster and then get very confused at why there are different companies, different tracks and incompatiblbe sets and toys.

I know what you mean Plarnold, normally I just refer to them as Takara Trains or sometimes the full name, most people on here know I collect them so they know what I mean. But you're right about noobs who wouldn't have a clue Smile
