Replacement wheels for Trackmaster Revolution Trains

17 Replies, 21723 Views

Hi everyone

I'm new to the forum and hope I can draw upon the collective knowledge of all to help me with a problem

My 3 year old loves tinkering with his trackmaster revolution trains, which is great, but the other day he decided to rip off the spikey wheels and then lose them. I have looked all over the internet and also on the Mattel website but can't seem to find replacement wheels anywhere. Does anyone here know where to find these or if there is an alternative replacement solution?

Cheers

J
Good question Jefro. I don't have any of the Trackmaster Revolution series trains myself but I thought that the traction tires on these are not removable. Hopefully some of our more experienced in Trackmaster members will help out with this dilemma.

Hi the spikey tires and wheels themselves are not sold separately sadly you would need to take the wheels from other engines for spare parts, I and some other members have swapped the older type of wheel onto the revolution axle with some minor mods with quite decent results. I might have some spikey wheels in my parts box anyhow but I am in Australia so if you are overseas postage could be stupidly expensive and it might be better to just buy another engine.

Hi Ucwepn

I'm also in Australia, Melbourne in fact. I would be keen to purchase the spare wheels that you have. I was after 3 wheels pairs if you have them. 1 green, 1 blue and 1 black ideally. Otherwise not fussed. Let me know how we can arrange delivery/postage and so forth.

Regards

J
They are wheels without axles, I might have all 3 colors I will have to check
I dug them out, I have 1 pair of black wheels, 1 pair of green wheels (it has snapped on one wheel where it holds the axle) & 1 single blue wheel (must have broken the other upon removal). Will update this post with pics soon

Thanks UCPEN
Would you happen to have anymore, say another 2 or three. Not fussed about colours. Would want to have a few spares in case my son rips off more spikey wheel treads from his other trains. Are the wheels easy to put on and take off by hand? PM me about cost and postage
Cheers
Jefro
The wheels are difficult to remove intact but easy enough to hammer back onto the axle, these are all I have sorry, as you can see one of the green wheels is shagged but the tire is on it. No cost pm me your address and I'll chuck them in an envelope when I get a chance Smile
You could probably superglue (or use a dab of epoxy judiciously) to fix them to the axels, although having said that you may never get them off again if you needed to lol!

Out of interest has anyone tried just fitting the standard Tomy traction tyres onto the revolution rims? I wonder if they would just work anyway?!?
Happily collecting things all my life... Big Grin
