I Wish Tomy Would...

Make a closed in grain hopper car as rolling stock with a future steam or diesel engine set. A longer chassis double bottom shut would be perfect if it could be done. Better yet, how about they release special sets of 3 pieces of rolling stock for sale as opposed to individual ones. I don't think I have ever seen a closed in grain hopper released in any series whether it be HiT, Trackmaster, Tomica World, Plarail, Tomy etc. Have they? Its about the only car style the haven't released besides the open hopper coal car..

This could be down to that type of wagon not existing in Japan maybe? Ultimately the PlaRail range is based on the Japanese locomotives and rolling stock so they are unlikely to model European or USA type rolling stock.

I could of course be barking up the wrong tree, but knowing that Japan primarily generates electricity through nuclear they are unlikely to ship much coal around (which would mostly have to be imported probably) and they probably use more rice than wheat etc... so there may be less movement or different types of rolling stock to move grain around

super, i would love to see cylindrical hoppers from tomy. they are my main collection in HO scale [specially anything in canadian livery] and it would be awesome to have tomy ones. that would also mean we need canadian diesels too.

Those are perfect Sunhuntin, excellent pictures and collection. Has your collection forced you out of your house yet? You have so much you must be running out of room

lol, not yet. but the stuff in front of my wardrobe is keeping me out of my bed as i needed to shift it for a layout build. pretty hard to select trains when you cant see them, lol.

We get lots of that style of wagon over here as the European outline stuff (I'm talking HO/N/Z models) model all those style of wagons and more as used in various places throughout Europe. We do also get some American/Canadian pieces, but obviously nowhere near as much as you'd find in the USA

The wagons I really love are the Roco HO gauge military vehicles, I've got a few flatwagons with armour (i.e. tanks, propelled guns) and other vehicles such as trucks etc... on them. But unfortunately not as many as I would like as they are quite expensive - I last bought some about 10 years ago and they were in the region of £25-35 each back then, god knows what they cost now...

It is Time for us to share things we would like to see developed and produced, be it Special trains, train types or track and scenery pieces!


I for one wish Tomy would make the Plarail versions of the Trains from the Nintendo Animal Crossing series, they hold the rights to make Animal Crossing figures why not make the trains featured in both the first game in the Franchise and the newest game in the Franchise (New Leaf). Animal Crossing New Leaf features an Hiroden tram and the first game features an Steam Locomotive.

That would be a great idea! I would buy it in a newer form! Although the tin form looks neat too.
