Thank you for your kind words. This is a forum for not only Thomas & Friends collectors/enthusiasts, but also ones of the real world as well.

My guess for this is that it is a Trackmaster for younger audiences that just has the ability to connect to the original. I emailed Mattel , but got no reply to this . I hope to have trackmaster continue, as these models don't seem as good.

I think no matter what it is a safe bet that Tomy Plarail will always be superior in quality to Fisher Price, Mattel or any of the other wanna be's!

There have been some great Trackmaster redesigned locos in the last couple of years and some not so great, I know not everyone will agree thats why we have this forum, 2012 Thomas, 2012 Diesel/Paxton, 2012 Hank (2013 Percy I am soon to review).
Not so great are the newer Edward, James, Henry, Light ups. Theres something about each that just annoys me.
It is strange that this line has been out in Asia for a short while and I wonder if the US and UK will be getting this and the Collectible Railway as well, although nothing was said about it at this year's NY Toy Fair. The TrackMaster system will still continue, but even if Motorized Railway comes to our countries it will still be funny with three track systems running out with this big deal on adaptors. In general I think the line is okay, but I feel Take-n-Play is a better choice of a younger system than having this junior clone which will still use the motor elements.
parents get so easily confused by all the different track systems. i lurk on a local parenting board, and quite often post in thomas related threads where parents are asking what track is compatible with what, and whether the engines can drive on each others. we see is as basic knowledge, but for parents whos little johnny or julie has just got thomas addicted, its a really confusing world. its made even worse with the tomy track still common as mud on the used market and the trains being identical. but the different name means many dont realise the new engines can run on tomy, and vice versa.

I have found some information on these! If you go to the Thomas And Friends Wiki, go to motorized railway. It will have some locomotives and sets of these
http://ttte.wikia.com/wiki/Motorized_Railway I have seen some of the sets, I may get a single train like this and from its pictures, it will probably be James. I may get Percy as well.

Is anyone expecting that they'll hear about anymore products for this range? It feels like this was a big deal a few months ago and now it feels like nothing's happened since this is in another country and that all these products we know about are all we're gonna get.
