IMO, This cowcatcher is not suitable, as it's somewhat oversized and is the wrong shape. Tillie's is a lot shorter, flatter and thicker, and actually goes 'under' that blue board at the front. You could probably build one from scratch instead.

About the eyes, I'll try that.

About the cowcatcher, I think it looks good but i will look better once I paint it and build a running board on top of it.

keep us updated,

I was considering using the cab from the plastic engine at one point but I'm going to make the cab out of a thick card paper. The red engine however, will be kept for spare parts.

Hey guys. Been a while, hasn't it?

Well, my Mum surprised me with an early Birthday present: A new HO train set.
We managed to get it working so yesterday, we went back to my house and I picked up a few things to try on the layout, such as Bachmann Thomas and Percy and of course, Tillie.
Mum's boyfriend (Peter) doesn't have much experience with model trains but he did a great job getting the train set to work. He even managed to get Tillie working properly by lubricating the motor.
Here's the first proper test run.

And that was the first real progress made in a while.

That is a fantastic looking layout and Tillie running is awesome. Just great work Thomasfan, hope to see more videos of that layout and Tillie. Thanks for the update and BluePlasticTracks Exclusive. Smile

Time for a short update.

As you may have noticed from the test video I made last week, I've painted the Cowcatcher and a couple of hours ago, I painted the front wheels.
Here's a picture.

Also, I've finally started work on the cab. It's made out of card and the coal bunker are 4 pieces of cardboard glued together. It looks pretty good but I think I might redo the front of it at some point.

I'm very pleased at how this is turning out so far. More updates when stuff worth updating this with happens.

Wow, about time! I quite like how it's coming together, and I hope I'll be happy to see the final result. It thinks it can, and it eventually will! I sort of predicted the cab was going to be made of card (or plasticard), but how are you going to hide the firebox at the front?
I really like how you have characterized this train. Great job Thomasfan, I like your artistic eye.

I've come to peace with the fact that I can't hide the Firebox from the front.
