Plarail Disney Monorail sets, worth it?

Yep, other than the box it looks like a complete set. Have to wait until I get it to inspect a bit more but at first glance it looks nice. I am watching a 30th Anniversery set that is NIB.. It will probably go out of my range, but I can always watch.. Lol..

At Tokyo Disneyland they still have the monorail set there for sale at 7,210 yen bnib. That's about $90 which I think is pretty expensive but still cheaper then on eBay and on the plarail store they have this limited edition green one for $105

Yeah that seems to be a very good price for those. I have been watching a few on Jauce that are closer to 13,000¥ and then you have the fees and shipping. So probably close to $200 US. The green one is not as expensive but still would be nice to have. I have seen them on eBay from time to time.

Super, I may have lied...

I was looking back at the listing and the very last line which was a bit or harsh translation anyway, seems to indicate that the rails are not included... I am going to try and see about making some from straights though and bending them using some heat. May be cheaper that way.

All you really need is the curves as long as you have the riser clips. I have seen many offerings on the Japan Auctions for either just the curves or just clips. The curves aren't very expensive as I have bought a couple sets.

I received the monorail today. It had some issues but for 1000¥ I will take it. Good news and bad news.

The Bad News:
- It did not run
- I still need track.. (my attempt to bend track is going ok, but without the clips it is tough to tell how well it will run.
- It had two cracked gears

The Good News:
- IT IS FIXED!!
- I managed to have two gears that worked fine, actually the same gears I use for the TnA Repairs
- seems to run well

I need to get the CR3032(I think that's the #) battery for the sound, but I connected a different battery directly and it worked.

The little I can test with it without having track I agree they are wobbly. There may be a way to add some rubber grips to the other rollers possibly. If anyone has any of these that are broken or you do not want, send me a PM. I may be able to repair or may be interested in purchasing.

You should have no problem picking up the curves and clips easily in the Japan Auctions. I will keep an eye out for ya.

Yeah, I am watching a couple, but hate to pay he premium for shipping and fees just for the track/parts, but if you need it you need it right. . I was hoping to find a lot with some trains included to make it a bit more appealing, haha..

No, it was still the normal one.

The Good News:
- IT IS FIXED!!

I guess I need to try fixing ours too
