I've never really been too sure about it, so, in order of best to worst, what are the batteries Plarail trains can run on? I'm wondering because I've been wanting to use a AA in Gordon, but, surprisingly, it seems to make no difference from the usual C-cell. Does the voltage have anything to do with it? Mom said the more powerful one is the C-cell, but does more powerful mean faster or more voltage, too?

I think the key is finding a good brand though. I have had the best luck with Duracel. If you are in the US you can usually get a large back at Sam's club or Costco. Hope that helps.

My family uses Duracell, and very rarely we have to buy different brands. We ran out of new Duracell AAs, so I used Kodak Max instead in the Spencer I restored today, and I think it runs a lot better than any of my other AA-trains.

i use whatever i can lay my hands on at the time. usually energizer lithium if they are on special anywhere. i tend to buy packs of 20+ at a time.
an AA will run a C-powered engine, but wont last as long and, if its not packed, it can move over bumps and fall out of position. [ive seen many complaints on amazon about battery compartments not being the right size for AA, always on engines that require a C.] some use a C for the weight up front. an AA simply wont hold them on the track properly

I always thought AAA was more powerful than AA, and AA more than C, but that's the only reason ive used AA with engines that are supposed to use C. Also I hate to be a jerk to those people on Amazon, but most of them are parents. I thought parents were smart enough to read instructions on battery stuffs and safety. Instead of trying a C, they just assume the creators are stupid, and complain about needing to stuff a paper towel in the batteru compartment.
