Jauce listings for 1 yen... Worth it?

Hey everyone at BluePlasticTracks!

I recently read Ripley's thread on Jauce, and have been intrigued into possibly getting some plarail thomas trains from it. I have seen quite a few trains for 1 yen, and that makes me wonder... is this the real deal, or is it a totally damaged train? Here is one as an example: http://www.jauce.com/auction/d182493013

Selling it for 1 yen certainly is the draw, but I am unsure if this is a fake, or maybe it's the real deal but it is damaged?
It definitely takes some thinking about, but who better than to ask you people, as you all have very helpful tips! Smile
mostly a marketing ploy, like the 1c or $1 reserve auctions on ebay. you watch a couple, i bet by closing [6 days away] theyll go up to around 2000y or more.

im watching a couple, because at that price i may as well, but i wont bid until closer to closing. if they go higher than i want to pay before then, i stop watching.

It is real...by the translation it sounds like it works, but that they aren't guarantying how well..like Sunhuntin said the 1yen is just a ploy, as it's price is sure to rise as sure as the sun sets!!
Play nice & have fun!!Smile
Thanks
I'm glad to hear your helpful tips! They usually have the same sort of thing on TradeMe, New Zealand's equivalent of EBay, where stuff goes up for $1 starting bid. The translation doesn't help a great lot to understand the condition of the item, but I'll just have to wait and see how high it goes for, and I also have to be careful how much shipping from Japan to New Zealand is going to be...
As was mentioned to me before.. WATCH out for shipping and fees. Once you ass the bank fee, local shipping, transaction fee, packing fee (optional), then international delivery, it can certainly add up. I will try and get my detailed expierence posted soon.

Check the shipping. You can find a dollar or two deal and then have to pay for shipping. I have experienced that the hard way.
I AM NOT DEAD. Just inactive.
So with the shipping of most items, it only shows that it ships around Japan and not really internationally. How would I go about getting an item to here in New Zealand?
when you place a bid, the website actually bids on your behalf, pays the seller and arranges to have things sent to their warehouse. you have to deposit money via paypal first. when youve built up a small collection of items, you get it sent from the jauce warehouse to you. ive used them heaps and they are flawless.

you pay:

winning fee
shipping from seller to warehouse
a re-packing fee [if you choose to, i recommend it.]
shipping from the warehouse to you.
