....I just hooked up an eight car load to see, and the bridge wont retract as long as cars are passing over it!!! IDK how it works, (not going to dissect it to look inside), but to answer your question:The number of cars is unlimited!! Smile

I suspect its a bit of a dead mans switch, the train rolling over puts weight on the bridge, once that weight is gone the bridge is able to move up slightly and retract. Without having one on hand though its hard to say.

Good observation Sinkillerj,

I just so happened to watch Suzukawa's video on the bridge and does seem to retract when there is no load on the rainbow bridge.
You can see the bridge pop up and retract back.

That's a cool set Muddy. I have seen this one pop up on eBay recently as well, and was thinking of picking one up, but other than the different Thomas, it seems I have the other components with Skiff from the Plarail Ryan, and Marion from the Plarail Gator set. Are these different maybe?
