LOL..its a Christmas Miracle Cat. Can't wait to see what happens when a train rides the white rail right into the church.
Fortunately, that line is long since out of service!

My son insisted on putting that piece on the layout. We originally tried the entire Christmas set but it didn’t quite fit. My original plan was something a bit more elaborate but life, budget and cats got in the way! BTW Super, the C62 is pulling the consist of blue and silver coaches we bought from you a while back. The room was too dark to get a good shot of it, so I’ll try to get a better one later.
A couple shots of the Christmas Express itself. The locomotive is the C62-2 Silver Swallow with working headlight, while, as I mentioned, the four blue/silver SuHa coaches I bought from Super and the rear coach from the current release of the C11. The engine and first three coaches are mine while the two rear coaches and the track belong to my son. Fortunately, we’re having an appropriately damp, chilly early winter day, which makes a great setting for the photos. Better than the 78° with a tornado outbreak we had last Monday!
Have I mentioned that I hate the weather here?
At lease your cat didn't create a CATAtrosphic disaster on the layout lol

That’s our kitty Thunderhead, the most misnamed cat in the world. However, she’s made it a tradition to sleep on the layout. No photos from last year because she ran away from home and got seriously injured in a fight right before Christmas. I’m glad to have her back and snoozing away on the fake snow this year!

My poor, sad Christmas layout. It looked a lot cooler in my mind’s eye than it actually turned out. You can also see the large swirled area where our cat, Thunderhead likes to lay. She’s the reason I decided not to use many scenic elements like trees and street lamps.

Lagniappe- A photo of Thunderhead in her (faux) snowy realm! We’re leaving the decorations up until Twelfth Night this year, partly because we put them up later and partly because it conveniently falls on a Sunday. After the decorations come down and the first King Cake is eaten, the layout will hopefully transition into a semi-permanent “live scenery” area for trains to run. |
