Here is yet another Plarail/Tomy train I am not sure I recognize and wonder if its rare or hard to find. Says its a Kiha 40 Shikoku color JR Shikoku Special Set Did it come with more cars as it looks like the ends are prepped for couplings. Very nicely detailed but...arrrrgh...are those yellow wheels not even close to looking good on this color scheme?
Another One I don't Recognize

Looks like it should probably have a centre car as it is very similar to a lot of the suburban type trains from what I've seen. Nice colour scheme, although the yellow wheels do ruin it a bit as you say

From what I can see it looks like this train is from the late 90's because of the yellow wheels

Hi Super,
Released in 2005 as part of a Special Shikoku Set (JR Shikoku Special Set). The set contained three train sets: - 5000 Series Marine Liner (3-car trainset) - 2000 Series Shiokaze (3-car trainset) - KIHA 40 (2-car trainset) I hope this helps! -plarnold
Oh, many thanks Plarnold
Another one of those three packs with a very limited, hard to find train in it. With your help I see that at one time the set was sold on Amazon Canada and UK http://www.amazon.ca/Pla-Shikoku-special...B000AY1SSY but no box shot. Do you happen to have a picture of the box? I think this is the first Tomy/Plarail train I have seen with a cut out for both the rear coupling and a front hook and the cut out for the front hook is on the engine. I must say though that I am a bit disappointed it was only released as a 2 unit train.
Fantastic Plarnold, thank you very much. That is a beautiful box. Now I have 2 three packs I am looking for.
