Rarest Plarail/Tomy Trains

Wow, I had no idea that snowplow set was that expensive. Is that the one with this version of the C12, with the metal gearbox that clicks and the disguised power switch?

Yes, that C-12. The set version has the older siderods, and the single item version has newer siderods just like yours. And yes, the C-12 is not the main highlight, its the snowplough unit.

I am not exactly sure about the date of the Good Western Steamer set, maybe Muddy knows for sure. I do know it was a US Tomy Exclusive  and the date stamped on the bottom is 'Tomy 1998 Made in Thailand for whats that is worth. I see that Listing you linked to said 2000.

That "Preschool Tomy" Logo is interesting. A little search on Ebay reveals a lot of toys by "Preschool Tomy"

Also on the station's signboard: "Tomica World". Coincidence?

They must have used the same stock as the individual Tomica World release of that station.

I see it does say its compataible with Tomica World at the top of the box, but I guess they specifically aimed this at preschoolers under the Preschool Tomy line of products instead of just regular Tomy.

The set also has similar contents to the Thomas Medium set, with just a slight difference in the layout where the bridge and station reside. It's even the same station, just the regular non-Thomas version of it

I do like the sign as 'Tomica World' as it makes it different than all the other variations of this Rural Station of which there are many. Hmmmm...wonder just how many variations there are to this station....hmmmm

These ones are all after the mail hook was changed to a second tree, I know at least one exists in the earlier mail pole form. Add in the Tomica World one, and the Thomas version was released in both styles, although the mail hook version didn't make it out of Japan before the second tree was introduced
