Plarail TOMY Thomas NEW RELEASES

Limited editions, Plarail Seibu Railway 9000 series (yellow, red, blue), 'pre-sale' launch event on 17th December at Seibu's Tamagawa-Jōsui Station, subsequent release including a 3-colour set to be announced later.



The yellow Seibu 9000 was first released in 2013, with occasional re-issues thereafter. I believe the red and blue ones will be new variants. Each will be ¥3,300, and the set will be ¥9,000.

Thanks for the heads up Dr Chris, bet Mr No might like to see these. The blue one reminds me of that Limited release of a Japan baseball team (can't remember the name), was it tigers or lions maybe? Might it be the same color and series...I wonder.

Beautiful trains, I have an earlier edition of all three (blue with Lions). But both the yellow and red ones had some branding too that will now, it seems, be removed.
Also, the red one was in Keikyu colour scheme, I think, and now will look quite different...

Well....that certainly looks weird. Thanks Dr Chris

It appears to be a new patent for a special carriage that transports cars. Weird, sure, but I'm positive that their research department has discovered that sales of trains that children can put cars in are doing great, so it's no wonder they're developing them. In the meantime, rare commuter trains will continue to be sold exclusively at special events, stations of individual carriers and their websites.
