Plarail TOMY Thomas NEW RELEASES

285 Series Sunrise Express (Event Limited Edition) released today, available from TakaraTomy Mall, with the event labelled "Plarail Expo at Home".
 

So this appears to be the same as the 2000 - 2018 (S-22) Sunrise Express, except that it has grey wheels instead of yellow ones.

I can't figure out that Web site you linked to. I can't seem to find any clickable Links that would at least take me to what they are offering which is what I would really like to see. It is VERY nice to see that the Plarail Expo is back on after a couple years in quarantine. Hmmm...I am hoping there will be even more surprises there unless the surprises are all on the web page.

I totally agree, new gray wheels really fit better! And just look at that beautiful box, worthy of a special edition!

It's a 1C battery train (the drive doesn't seem to have changed from the previous model), and it costs 2200 Yen.

In order to see what's going on with this "Expo at Home" (which I take to mean that there won't be any 'live' Expos again this year), you have to register with a Japanese address.  More news may follow if I can get in!

Although I like the idea of a Steam Cartridge, it looks to be somewhat clumsy to refill. It does, however, produce a lot of cool steam. Curious as to how long a full reservoir of water lasts with that much steam? At any rate, it looks like much fun for the children
