They are a saddle shaped piece that fits over the boiler with a hole for the dome. The wings themselves might be detachable.

Sorry, I misunderstood what you were implying. when I made that statement.  

usually engines with front coupling is not motorized.  So i suspect Rajiv is not motorized.

I knew that Rajiv would not be powered if he were made, but they could've made him self contained with some effort (with or without working middle wheels).
